Hi! I'm Marta, a photographer based in Porto, Portugal.
My journey into photography started in my teenage years, when I was always capturing everything around me with a point-and-shoot camera. After some years working as a sociologist, I went back to photography, and I've been around there ever since.
Storytelling is the core of my practice as a photographer. Whether photographing a music festival, an exhibition, a sports event or the launch of a new project, I always try to capture the essence of my subjects to help those who trust in my work to communicate in more meaningful ways.
In addition to commissioned projects, I spend my time photographing some personal stories, focused on issues of identity, memory, belonging, and territory. Since 2017, I've been travelling around Portugal to document the landscape of lower league football fields in the project Futebol de Tostões.
