Hello, my name is Marta, and I'm a Portuguese photographer based in Porto, where I work as a freelancer on commissioned and personal projects.
My journey into photography started a long time ago, with a point-and-shoot camera that followed me everywhere. After some years working as a sociologist, I felt the urge to explore a different path, which led me to rediscover photography. Eager to learn more about documentary photography and artistic practices, I went to study photography at IPCI and began to develop some personal projects focused on issues of identity, loss, belonging, and sense of place.
Storytelling is the foundation of my work as a commercial and lifestyle photographer. I always try to evoke emotion and to capture the essence of my subjects to help those who trust in my work to communicate in more meaningful ways. My goal is to collaborate with people, projects and brands that value authenticity and artistry.
Since 2017, I've been travelling around Portugal to document the landscape of lower league football fields in the project Futebol de Tostões.
